Larry Nance Jr On 2018 Cavs Vs Raptors They Had No Shot

Larry Nance Jr. on 2018 Cavs vs. Raptors: 'They Had No Shot'

Cavs reportedly celebrated after facing Raptors

Nance says team underestimated Raptors

In a recent interview, Larry Nance Jr. revealed that the 2018 Cleveland Cavaliers celebrated as soon as they found out they would be facing the Toronto Raptors in the second round of the playoffs. Nance said that the team underestimated the Raptors and believed they had no chance of winning the series.

"We were like, 'Oh, we got Toronto. They had no shot,'" Nance said. "We were just so confident that we were going to win that series."

The Raptors, however, would go on to win the series in four games. Nance said that the team's confidence was shattered after the first game of the series, which the Raptors won by 22 points.

"We got our butts kicked in Game 1," Nance said. "And after that, we just kind of lost our confidence. We started to doubt ourselves. And the Raptors just kept playing with more and more confidence. They were the better team."

The Raptors would go on to win the NBA championship that season, defeating the Golden State Warriors in six games. Nance said that the Cavaliers' loss to the Raptors was a valuable learning experience for the team.

"It was a tough loss, but it was also a good learning experience for us," Nance said. "We learned that we can't take any team for granted. We have to respect every opponent. And we have to play with confidence. If we don't, we're not going to win."
