Edmonton becomes 10th team to overcome 3-0 series deficit

For the first time since 1945, a team has erased a 3-0 series deficit and forced a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final. The Edmonton Oilers accomplished the feat on Saturday night with a 4-3 overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche. The Oilers are also the 10th team in Stanley Cup Playoffs history to force a Game 7 after previously trailing a series 3-0.

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Monday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton. The Oilers will be looking to win their first Stanley Cup since 1990, while the Avalanche will be aiming to win their third Stanley Cup in the past four years.
